Ok so I have a dell inspiron 8600 running windows xp. Lately I have noticed that both audio and video have been lagging. Videos which I have uploaded onto the computer will lag, as well as songs. I use itunes and windows media player 11 but both seem to lag so I don't think it's the software. I'm not positive but it seems the whole computer has these little blips. The lagging isn't horrible just blips, very very annoying. I'm new to this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh by the way cpu usage is low as is memory. Thank you for your time!

try to update drivers
try to update drivers from DELL after you get the updates from there you may consider updating your BIOS if you have recently replaced any components including CD/DVD drives
