computer shut down

my computer hangs on shut down goes to "program not responding" so i have to click "end task" befor it goes off. windows xp pro.

Any more info? program/process name etc? did it happen before? what were you doing etc?

Be as detailed as you can.. info that doesn't seem relevant to you could be the lost piece to the puzzle
