Computer won't turn on, help

About a few days ago i was playing a game on my computer then it froze so i had to manually shut if down by unplugging it .

And now it wont turn on at all , whenever i press the power button a green light just blinks and dies . I checked inside the computer and all there was inside was a little green light in the motherboard . No fan no nothing . I tried removing graphics card , hard drive and reconnecting everything , cleaned everything and it still wont boot .

Im new to this forum by the way , so please tell me if im doing anything wrong

We need to know the brand and model, as well as age, and configuration including operating sytem, cable connections, switches, batteries...

Oh sure

Computer is Hp compaq dx2200 Microtower

Nvidia en9800 gt 512MB
1 Gig DDR2 ram ( two 512Mb sticks )
80 Gb hdd
500watt PSU
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.06ghz
Windows XP professional

and its around 3 years old
