Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid Tower ATX Case Review

the review is very direct to the point and is a good review imho.

however, it would be a better review if the pricing of the individual pc components assembled using the HAF 912 casing are priced individually so that any reader can gauge the "HAF 912 assembled pc" versus the different iterations of your pc buyer's guide...
 
No temperatures? I would have thought that, with only a couple of features a week, you could manage that? It's a great review otherwise, but is, at least to me, useless..
 
I love the outer design of the HAF cases but it being white inside totally turns me away. They should do what antec did with their second version of the antec 900 and have it black to match the outside.

I don't really see how you could accurately include temperatures in a review personally. There are so many different combinations you'd never be able to say how good it could be, that is solely dependant on each cases individual fitted hardware, not to mention how its been fitted etc.

I doubt most people would pay it much attention anyway, I certainly wouldn't, as it wouldn't have been tested with my exact hardware, in the exact layout and configuration I'd be using; I'd likely change the fans before evening fitting a component anyway!

It seems like the past few weeks every review or item published on here has someone not happy, or quick to point the finger at something they feel should be included. :(

I would add to that...but I don't think I could have put it better.
 
I don't like having fans in the right side panel, they used to get all dirty and with time the mesh gets all rusty (that's also because I live in the coast, and the wind is salty)... anyways, I like this case for its price, but would prefer a black painted interior with no side intake panel :)
 
Hi. i bought a HAF 922, 4 months back. I live bang opposite the Arabian Sea, so lots of moisture n winds n its been raining hard past 3 months. Well, the bottom part of Front Pannel, the one which contains the Grill n LED is already lost all its PAINT and is rusted. I'l never buy a CoolerMaster again. the Paint quality is rotten. Wherever, iron/metal is used on body like Grilles n all, its all loosing its paint n turning into BROWN color i.e. is RUST. I live in Mumbai, India
 
I think I want to get one of these and paint it pink for my daughter's machine. This is an awesome looking little case and it has a great price. I've always like the way the HAF series has looked - I really want an HAF-X for myself.

That I reckon would be pretty cool.. I've been looking for a decent pink case for the missus for a while now, and never even considered actually just spraying one! Its a excellent idea!

Though for me, its a HAF 932 on my christmas list! :D
 
Just as a quick note. LegitReviews is saying the U.S. is only getting the "base" model (the one in this article) at first. There will be the "Plus" model which has a black interior, and an "Advanced" model with the black interior and a side window. (apparently the UK will get the Plus version first)

You are right on all accounts. Including temperatures is a pretty meaningless exercise and most people simply do not care. The only way to really do it would be to take the same motherboard/cpu/ram/cpu cooler/graphics card combo and then install it in each case and take the GPU and CPU temperatures.

Not only is this a lot of work I am still not sure how accurate the results would be. Then you have to worry about case fan configurations and the settings that people are going to want to use.

Finally people have been complaining about all the content lately because we have started charging for it. Didn't you notice that it is no longer free and you are forced to read it against your will? haha no its just the Internet and complaining about things on it not takes up a larger percentage than porn, we have a new winner.
 
Good review. I have always liked the design of the HAF cases they are solid. If I did not have the HAF 922 I would definitely think about picking this one up.
 
I wasn't really too impressed with this case. For the price it's missing a lot of simple features, like a tool-free installation.

In Cooler Master's cheaper cases, the plastic tabs break off the tool-less brackets practically by looking at them. Trust me, you're better off without them.

Antec's 900 gaming case doesn't have tool free drive mounting either. I actually think that screw mounting the drives to the metal case helps with the cooling.

I have a Cooler Master "Elite 335", ($34.95 @ Microcenter), which does in fact have tool free drive installation. As far as I'm concerned, you can keep it. Half the time the plastic tabs snap off, and you wind up screwing the drive in anyway.
 
Oops - guess you're right - you can get tool free at that price range. Guess I've just gotten used to paying a lot more for the cases I like. For what it's worth there are some areas of the 912 that don't require tools.
 
haf 912 is awesome entry level pc case.
all entry level pc case should have removable hd bay. i mean you are using matx, needs 2 gpu, a longer videocard is better using up all the slots in matx board. that extra length plus air flow rocks
