Cyberpunk 2077 draws over one million concurrent Steam players, beating Fallout 4's record

Based on his comments and what I saw from him running with Ray tracing on didn't look like that big of a difference to me and not worth the performance hit if you have to turn it off on a 3090.

Infact with all the things he turned off just to keep it smooth I would feel like I wasted a ton of money on a 3090.

What cpu are using to push your RTX 2080?
Ok I just got in from work and fired the game up properly and I can tell you right now that ray tracing is absolutely worth turning on in this game. You do have to use DLSS to get a reasonable frame rate but the visual difference is quite staggering, the reflections on the cars are very prolific and you really miss them when you turn RT off.

Im using an i7 4790K at 4.7ghz, so far it seems fine, the game is heavily limited by the GPU. You don’t need a 3090 to play this game, my 2080 is handling it well enough. Sure the performance is lower than any other game I’ve tried on it but it’s also probably the best looking game I’ve ever seen and that’s with DLSS performance mode on. The difference in visual fidelity with DLSS is negligible, far far smaller than when you turn RT off.

with the exception of minecraft this is the biggest differenceI’ve seen RT offer in a game.

As for feeling like you wasted a tonne of money on a 3090, well, I mean even if the game ran perfectly would you not feel that $1400 on a GPU is a bit of a waste of money anyway?

No, the very basic (and relaxed) DRM Steam uses is not worth complaining about for a lot of us. Easy to crack if I wanted to.
And then the services and community tools that we use are worth so much more than you seem to know. Just the other day I was able to easily play couch co-op with a friend over the internet with no added complexity. Why? because it's a free feature on Steam.
The provided value and continuously added features from Steam more than make up for the supposed cocooning. Just because you don't see the value, doesn't mean people like us (who don't necessarily want to manually manage games) don't.
Many thanks for confirming my thoughts.

Like the mosquitoes attracted to the blue and violet lights that are meant to kill them, humans are attracted to hype and over-hype.

Making a hyped-up game seems to be profitable after all. Looking at so many suckers falling for it.

Of course, I can't say I'm not the least interested in what's all the hoopla about, but may get it later - maybe 2 or 3 years later when there's at least 75% off sale or even better, free giveaway by some publisher. Especially when another over-hyped game is being pushed on the face again.

Heck, I even waited to get my PS4 Pro after many years and my PC games long after they were released. Nowadays, just collecting free games from Epic every month. By the time I finish them today's games will be on sale.

Works everytime.

Because Galaxy 2.0's interface, and I cant believe this, is far inferior to steam, and just like with EA, ubisoft, ece many peopel dont want to have yet another app on their PC just to own a game when they can buy it off steam.
Half the point of using GOG is that the launcher is entirely optional

Yeah mate we get it, you aren’t a gaming enthusiast.
