Dell Dimension - HP Pavilion compatible?

I have an HP Pavilion(P4 socket 478) that I am working on right now. A friend gave me the fairly scavenged remains of a Dell Dimension 3000 for parts. It also was a socket 478 P4.
Could anybody tell me if the parts are interchangable? The mobo and CPU from the Dell are intact and could be a decent upgrade to my HP if possible.

You could look up specifically the specifications of your HP product (via S/N) by going to THIS thread

Same applies to Dell computers (via Service Tag) on THIS thread

ie There is a maximum CPU limit on processor specifications, but initially it looks interchangeable

Appreciate the response Kimsland. Already had #1 (manual) saved to HD. Could not make any sense from #2. Thanks anyway.
