Disappointing Battlefield V sales and declining mobile business see EA's shares plummet

"Jorgensen said Battlefield V missed targets due to it lacking a battle royale mode at launch"

Yup, that's the only reason. Clearly "Don't like it, don't buy it" had zero to do with people not buying it... :D
7 million copies sold, hmm seems like plenty bought it. They just missed their target goal is all. So yes it would seem it had nothing to do with zero people not buying it.

Stop whinning. Cheating isn't that bad in this game. Want to see real cheating just go play Pubg, you will be crying before you finish the game.
*sigh*

Nobody is crying, I am only states the facts:
Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V are cheat fests & have no form of active anti-cheat. Thus, the only people left playing these games on the PC, are cheaters who want to troll EA/DICE/Origin. Subsequently, EA won't do anything about it, because cheaters are by far the largest player base they have. They actually protect them, instead of openly go after them.

Stupid Community Manager Braddock (at an event talking to bystanders), joked that nobody actually handles the cheat reported by other players. Dice themselves have been asked & cornered by investors and they decline and point back to EA.

Battlefield Franchise is dead bro... and I (& 20+ co-workers) have been playing since Battlefield 1942.

loot boxes aren't going anywhere. Tons of games have them.
That doesn't mean they should be there on a game you've purchased for £60. If it was F2P, that's a completely different story.

I've seen these comments a lot and seen a lot of YouTubers complaining and showing the cheating going on in BFV. At least PUBG developers try to counteract the cheating...

Same, BFBC2, BF3 and BF4 there were a good 8-12 of us that would play it religiously, got 400-600 hours per game, BF1, we liked, thought it was alright, got maybe 100-200 hours out of it, BFV, over half of us didn't bother picking up and the ones who did have all stopped playing it due to either Cheating or simply don't like the game.

Real shame, was such a good franchise.

Yeah I bet you get more than 40fps with that cpu.

I average 60 fps at stock speeds. Ranges from 58-62fps. I don't understand why people think they need to upgrade their processors so often. Planning to get a 9900K some time this year...after 8 good years on the 2500K.

Who cares about those extremely high frame rates? I certainly don't. Oh sure, it's nice when it comes to benchmarks but anything above 100 FPS is wasted upon the average player. Better to get a good monitor with Freesync/GSync and be happy.

Oh look! Another "human eye dont need more than <insert number of frames or hz or gigabytes of ram here>" kind of guy! I thought those were gone in 2019, seems I was wrong.

While I understand your point. You seem to think the majority of the market is running 120-144hz displays. When most are still on 60hz displays.

And you are right GPU upgrades matter more in games. Not to say there aren't cpu bottlenecks just you get more from your money's worth by upgrading gpu's every two years than cpu's.

Bawhaha. They blamed the single player experience as the cause of poor sales. However, RE2, RDR2, Witcher 3 can prove them wrong.
Let's analyze the true causes:
- MTX and greed
- DLC price
- hysterical SJW and the bashing of majority of p(l)aying fans (which are white males, even if this drives the feminazi crowd mad) by the shills is causing the backlash
- mocking the customers and calling them "uneducated" by the developers
I will NOT buy any 'woke' games or any kind of entertainment and utterly refuse to put any money into the current monetization scheme. I will only buy the CDPR games and the old games/movies which don't buy into this leftist crap.
For all I care, EA, Activision, Ubisoft can rot in hell. Also, I refuse to install another launcher for Metro

Let's see how well the entertainment industry performs when they bash the demographic which brings them the shekels.
Also, I REALLY can't wait for the Chinese ban on MTX. Can't come soon enough. Let's hope that a huge financial crisis will destroy the current gaming behemoths...
Oh, and please note I'm from Romania, Eastern Europe. So don't assume I'm an American redneck :D

I've still got a 2009 i7 960@4.1Ghz paired with a GTX 980Ti that holds up quite well vs my i7 6700 with a 980ti @1080p/1440p

Pubg is doing the exact same thing. They aren't fighting anything. If you believe that then you believe in the Tooth fairy too.
Cheating has always been a issue in any MP game. Some do a better job at stopping it but to say Pubg does fight against is a freaking joke.

We played BF2 for years solely! Along with RL friends/clansmen, we met a hundred more, who help donate for our servers ($4k/year). Many were active on the "Revive Network".

The longest Battlefield game for me, was BF2142 with some 3k hours played. I had friends who played until the day it closed, with over 5k+ hours played. Our pilot (in every game) has his own simulator. Have not seen him in years. Many are fractured, I am playing ARMA & trying WW3.

DICE has ruined their own brand.

Stop it. Just stop dude...!

Anything on Steam means you loose your entire library if you get caught cheating. Origin accounts are free & plentiful.

To life long Battlefield players, it seems (to Us) that DICE & EA work for the cheat companies... that is the ONLY rational of why they as a Company wouldn't have a modern anti-cheat within their game. Instead, of upgrading from PunkBuster to something more modern, DICE decided to have NONE. As in zero anti-cheat! As in zero funs for anti-cheat, & zero effort for anti-cheat.

Make no sense to those who been on the PC their whole lives, then...

Then the reason becomes known... (EA let it slip) that it would cost them too much money to combat cheating on the PC, so they gave up after BF4 and took over the Player servers.

HAHAHAHA! Do you even play PUBG? Do you even Google before replying?! Incredible work...

Just Google:
"Accounts banned in BFV"
"Accounts banned in PUBG"

BFV = Lots of forum threads of people being Banned for no reason.
PUBG = Loads of Media Outlets reporting over 13 million accounts banned for hacking.

Yeah, PUBG developers are doing nothing...

Well, I would think there is more than one reason to not combat cheating... you even contradict yourself by giving one (cost) at the end of your post...

Some companies also fear that banning cheaters will cut down on the people who play the game - and the stat of current players is important for them.... if you have 100 people playing, and 20 cheat.... the fear is if you ban those 20, you now only have 80 playing...

I would actually hazard an opinion that EA and DICE working for the cheating companies is quite IRRATIONAL.... but hey, that's just me :)

That is the point, that EA/DICE cares more about cheaters, than they do for Consumers play legit. It becomes a downward spiral from there, because no legit gamer will ever buy your product again. Legit players are the ones who keep your base going. Cheaters move from game to game griefing people for kicks. Cheaters don't spend $2k on servers or stick with the same game for 2+ years, etc.

If you don't ban cheaters, then all you end up are with are cheaters. If you have 100 people Playing and 20 cheat, if you don't ban those 20 cheaters the other 80 gamers will leave... and that is what happened. Now, all that are left playing are cheaters.

EA/DICE doesn't care, because the legit players already bought the game. They could care less if you don't play, more money for them.

It is already been speculated, that someone at EA/DICE are developing the hacks, which are worth more than the game. That is why EA is allowing the demise of their products, because they get paid to build them, and paid to wreck them.

Texas dude is probably a cheater himself. No legit Battlefield player is going to say that cheating isn't bad in Battlefield.

Not to mention, many of those 13 million BANNED from PUBG, swarmed the BF1 servers after the first wave of bans. What else are these dweebs going to do, if their steam account is nix'd? Answer is fire up their old Origin account and grief BF1, or BF5 servers. There is no fear of loosing that account, EA protects cheaters.

Legit players already bought the game... SO DID THE CHEATERS.... they don't care MORE about the cheaters... they simply don't care, PERIOD.

Much like movies, the vast majority of sales happen within the first few weeks.... there's no real cost benefit to "supporting" these titles past that... yes, long term it might kill your franchise, as your reputation for lack of support begins to spread - but EA is so huge that they can simply retire this franchise and go to something else... then come back to this later claiming it's "refreshed" and the suckers *cough* consumers will buy it up again.

Of course their sales is disastrous. Who wants YET ANOTHER WW-2 GAME??
WW-2 is so boring, but they keep releasing new episodes of WW-2 crap over and over again. Same as National Geographic and Viasat History keeps airing boring episodes about "Nazi this, Nazi that, Hitler this, Hitler that". Who cares?? Nobody. Teenagers and young adults want modern stuff. Don't want that WW-2 garbage. Keep that crap to yourself!
