Do the guides need to be updated?

Many of these guides are rather old (some from the XP era).

How may of them are valid for Win 10?

The PC buying guide definitely needs an update. It's been about 7 months since it was written and we now have Ryzen. I'd like to see it done in late June or July after Intel and AMD push out their 8-16 core processors so that the $4000 and $8000 builds are actually well done.
