doom3.exe has generated errors...

  1. A problem that is a hard nut to crack:
If I try to run doom 3 the harddisk crunches some numbers, but after 5 seconds Windows 2000 says: "program error" "Doom3.exe has generated errors etcetera".
However, there is no error log to be found that supposedly would be created by windows.

Also my system meets the requirements for doom 3, but since I exchanged a Geforce 2 64 mb video card for a 256 mb Geforce 6200, the program error keeps appearing.
With the GF 6200 it won't run at all.
Activision is will not help me any further after a long debate: At first they told me my 64 mb video card was no good (at least doom 3 ran, but slow), secondly, my processor was no good, but its performance is better than a P4 1.5 GHz.
Then they sent me to Asus, because the BIOS should be flashed.
After all, I am the one to blame for a rotten system - that is the bottom line of the story.

So I have flashed it, but it didn't help.
Doom 3 had generated errors and I kicked it off my harddrive out of frustration.
Yes, it is a fully legal copy.
    Can anybody help me?
