DVD is not recognised anymore.

Hello all.

I have an Asus L4L, and just today when I inserted a DVD into the drive, the usual spinning action took place but the film did not auto start.

I opened my DVD software and it showed no DVD Drive.
I looked in Windows My Computer and no DVD Drive was shown.
I looked in Device Manager and now there is no sign of a DVD Drive.
I clicked on Add/Remove hardware and it cannot find the DVD Drive.
Then I rebooted and looked in the BIOS and now the Drive is no longer there.

Is it time to replace the drive?
