Dynamic DSL is getting static connection

i have the SBC yahoo DSL thingy and its a Dynamic IP assigning...so the problem is that sometimes (about every 2 days or so) the computer keeps on saying that it's trying to acquire an IP address, and it takes about 2 hours to do that...just wondering is there anyway i can manually assign an IP address so it could be a pseudo Static conenction?

Sure, you can assign an IP manually.. Your internet connection will probably stop working though Depends on how your ISP has configured its network.

The fact that the computer is unsuccessfully trying to get an IP doesn't mean there is something wrong with the DHCP. Most likely the whole internet connection is down. Complain to you ISP.
