No. It would be enough if you or your company makes any business with China. Already some people had to apologize after saying that Taiwan is a country - not because they are in China, but because China have leverage to ensure even outside China free speech is limited and penalized.
Anyway, "freedom of speech" is a person's freedom, which ends where other persons' freedom starts. So hate speech and incitement is not part of that freedom. That would be 'anarchy of speech'

I wouldn't really consider Apple a platform for a discussion forum. Maybe if he were going after Google and Youtube this would make sense, because they very clearly don't care for free speech. But Apple? I think Musk is barking up the wrong tree here. Go cut down Google... Apple at least pretends to care about their users' privacy (lol).

Perhaps, but the only issue on the table is specific to whether or not Taiwan is its own country. That's an argument that's been going on for decades. Even POTUS had to clarify the US "one country policy", toward China. (Right after he said, "we'd defend Taiwan to the death if China invaded").
But then again, any advertiser would have to take up that issue while trying to sell their product. That's a "fool's errand". For example, what if Gillette advertised, "Right Guard",as "only a deodorant for Republicans".
Corporate advertising should be "apolitical", for best results.
So,again, if Musk is able to separate his free speech doctrine, from his dealings with China. You may be able to go on Twitter and spout on about, "how repressive China is", but he can't. That's just business, not politics.
If Musk were to censor you for speaking out about China, that would make him a hypocrite, and your wallet lighter by 8 bucks a month, for naught. .

Musk isn't suing anyone, and it's not even close to being comparable to a supermarket and a single customer. Your analogy doesn't make sense.
This is a trillion dollar corporation trying to throw it's weight around (without looking too political). And keep in mind that pretty much all apps installed on phones these days are controlled by Apple and Google.
I don't find that terrifying at all. No one is under any obligation to make my app or anyone else's app available on their platform. We all got along just fine when no one had a cell phone. I am sure life will go on just fine if Twitter's app isn't on Apple's platform. It's not the only way to access Twitter after all...

Why would Apple care about Twitter having moderation? I don't remember Apple saying anything when it came out that Twitter crushed a true story about Hunter Biden. Truth....who needs it I guess....

Pulling advertising is one thing...not allowing a Twitter app because people are free to speak their mind is a whole different thing. As long as the left leaning green haired weirdos are running Twitter, silencing conservative views and deleting true stories that would make democrats' look bad there are no problems or complaints. But holy **** take the weirdos away and all hell breaks loose because.....people might be free to have their own thoughts and share them. We just don't want that at all....hive mind for the win!

Elon need not worry. People's love for Twitter is far greater than crApple products. The end users would rather switch to Android than give uptheir access to Twitter.
