EVGA release patch to stop Nvidia 10-series cards from going up in flames

Read below for EVGA's reply, they aren't admitting there is an issue it seems. I'm not fussed because mine works fine even during stress testing and has a 5 year warranty :)
Hello,

thanks for your detailed request - you possibly read online about some reviews, but the GPU has no overheating issue and is fully functional -
nevertheless we do optional offer an MOD, which can be requested online through http://de.evga.com/thermalmod/ -
please note this is optional and not needed, the GPU is fully working even without - additional an BIOS is online, which could be flashed first

The photo shows a Sound Blaster card catching on fire. Is this some kind of Photoshopped click bait? Perhaps the author could explain?
What's to explain? They use the first image they find that somewhat illustrates the story they are telling, whether it is photo-shopped or not.

Well eagle eyes the Sound Blaster card isn't actually on fire in the picture it's just the illumination LEDs of the card itself, so no photoshop. Nor is there any confirmation in the article of the cards catching fire, just people claiming it, not this site. Glad to see you created an account just to make this one post...
