explorer just freezes at certain spots

It all happened when my CMOS kicked the bucket, so I reset that and it was over and done with, now I have a new problem. When I try to go into my documents on either partition it will freeze and when i click end now explorer crashes. it will also do it when hilighting multiple things. Please help me with this. It is very frustrating once a three hour move is one tiny bar away from completeion, and explorer farts.

Check your system for viruses etc.

If it checks out ok, backup your important data and try a Windows repair, as per this thread HERE.
