F.E.A.R Combat and DEP

I just installed FEAR combat, and when i try to open it, i get the message "Fear has stopped working" DEP has stopped it, and i was wondering whether it would be safe to disable DEP for FEAR. The only thing I've ever disabled DEP before for was a windows service,(COM surrogate) so i'm not sure if it would be safe or not.

Hey,

I just disable DEP all together. It's just annoying.

Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools>Folder Options>View
Select Show hidden files and folders
Untick Hide protected operating system files
Click OK

Browse to C:\
Right click boot.ini, choose Properties
Untick Read-only, click OK
Open boot.ini
Make this change /NoExecute=AlwaysOff
File>Save
Right click boot.ini, choose Properties
Tick Read-only, click OK

Reboot
