You obviously have a quarrel with big pharma, and it's sort of clouding your outlook. How about this logic. Millions of cases, small amounts of death equals a case fatality rate that is so small it's stupid.
I'll do this for you. I'll get checked for anti-bodies against Covid-19 in my system. I'm 100% sure that I have them since this virus is Sooooooo contagious and deadly and yet I'm still alive.
And after I test positive for antibodies in my system that specifically target Covid-19 I want my antibodies passport/badge awarded to me so that I can wear it on my chest proudly.
"Buh buh buh buh buh we dont know how long those antibodies will stay in your system. Grandma killer!!!!!!!!!!"
Oh okay. Well, here, chew on this.
Make no mistake about it, I'm of a likewise opinion, and I can cite chapter and verse of exactly that is. Yes, big pharma is greedy beyond all reason, and they have too much influence on our political system.
One standout is the "abilify" versus.its "breakthrough replacement, Rexulti. What's the truth? Well, Abilify went generic, so they moved a molecule here, put one there, and patented it under the name "Rexulti". The net result of which is that they can now sell the new variant at exorbitant prices.
The video ad campaign for Rexulti was so blatantly loaded with propaganda as to be repugnant.
Prior to this, there was the "breakthrough treatment" for, "restless leg syndrome". The majority of us, myself included wondered, "shouldn't they be trying to cure cancer"?
Still even the most "RICO" oriented companies get it right and do some good once in a while.
I endured measles, mumps, and chicken pox as a child. Now the question becomes am I envious of those who will never have to? Or do I think they're whiny little wimps? Well, as it turns out, both statements are true.
As to the root argument of this thread, SARS 2 is a zoonotic virus, which jumped from bats to humans. I don't think we actually know if there was an intermediate specie or species in the process.
So, as for this bullsh!t "it came from the market", you would have to assume a bat bit a fish which in turn a human ate and then became, "patient zero".
The more logical assumption is that it came from the Wuhan lab, where it was being cultured, but not, "manufactured"
No matter what these younglings would like to think, there is evil in the hearts of men and governments alike, period. And the only thing the Chi Coms could or would say is "whoops, it wasn't us", and blame it on the local bats. Let's face it, they couldn't release anthrax or bubonic plague in the marketplace, now could they? They're be caught "red handed" <(pun intended)> if they did.
As I'm pretty old, each year I get "old fart's extra heavy duty dose", of flu vaccine. I don't think I'm being herded, manipulated, or controlled> Besides, it's free with Medicare..
And Covid vaccine is free to all those eligible. Why not go for it?.
About the only thing Trump got right in his entire "reign", was coining the term, "kung flu".
