How can someone be so dumb, yet bright enough to be able to build these rockets- even though it crashed, still impressive, yet colossally dumb!!!
How can a savant be able to tell you the day of the week it will be on any given date a 1,000 years in the future, or the day it was a 1,000 years ago, yet barely be able to tie their shoes?
If something is your passion and sole pursuit, I suppose you tune out the sensibility of it, the risks, the cost, ant the probability of failure, and just "go for it.
People who specialize in any given pursuit, which requires multiple degrees, aren't likely to be terribly accomplished in multiple skills.
"Versatility", is relegated to the oft looked down upon, "jack of all trades, master of none", school of living.And then, (although most of us can't understand the "reasoning behind it, don't feel truly alive unless they're a single breath away from death.
(At least that's the answer those fools usually give).
By the way, sometimes it's hard to tell where "passion" ends, and "obsessive compulsive disorder", or "addiction", begins.
