Former lottery programmer gets 25 years for rigging random number generators in jackpots

I read about this yesterday on a news site - He was facing UP TO 25 years. He was actually sentenced to the full amount?! That's kind of crazy, if so. This is obviously a case of "I regret my choices because I was caught" but I mean, there are child molesters doing less time. He's not a threat to society.
He probably won't, specially if he pleaded guilty they must have offered him a deal to reduce it.
Unlikely. If I'd posted it on social sites for the entire world to see, some low IQ types might see it as hate although it's not. It's more like contempt for his kind.
This looks to be another of the "I don't care I'll forget about them" posts. It's funny how you make fun of low IQ though.
Reread the article. He DID receive the full 25 years. It is over and done. It also says he'll probably only actually be in prison for 5 years. He'll likely leave prison with a lucrative job in organized crime already lined up.

While that may sound excessive, just think of all the poor widows and widowers that have had their money stolen by these kinds of unscrupulous crooks and how many of them have died early because they could not pay for medicine, etc. because of the greedy crooks.
The real problem is that most of the people buying lottery tickets can't afford them. The money they should be spending on the items you listed above are instead spent on lottery tickets. Also, only 7 of those poor people might have won the money, and of those, most will be poor again within 5 years. I think the 25 year sentence with 5 served fits the crime fine. The problem is we don't have room/money to keep the violent criminals in jail, much less the white collar variety.

Did you know (I'm sure you do) that most of the folks who buy the tickets are generally the poorer, unfortunate souls who are down on their luck hoping to change all that with a bit of good fortune which a lot of them deserve. I'd sooner see them spend the little cash they have on a ticket rather than waste it on a bottle of hooch instead but creeps like that obese palooka in the article not only yank the rug from under their feet, but show them the middle finger and kick sand in their eyes as well. If he'd knocked over a bank or an armoured car and nobody got hurt, I'd have more respect for him. I hope he never sees the light of day again but that's unlikely.

Yes, the lotteries that use balls can be rigged. Sort of any way it's done by rigging the weight of the balls making some slightly heavier than others which make it more likely those numbers will be drawn. Notice the more likely it's not guaranteed those numbers will be drawn. In these games, each ball is supposed to weigh exactly the same as the other to ensure the fairness of the draw.
