geforce 2 mx400

hi all,
my brother has a geforce 2 mx400 64mb video card but windows is only reading 32mb.
at system startup it reads 64mb and his mobo supports 4x agp

Hello

Have you tried the latest driver from nVidia?
You may want to un-install the current drivers first,
after re-boot install the new ones.

hi,

wht brand ur card is of (e.g Asus, MSI etc) and if it isn't of any brand then it may be a remarked card. I use to have same graphic card in the past but it isn't of any brand. Offcourse it shows memory when system is booting to be 64mb but in windows under DX9 it shows its real memory which was 32 mb. It is actually of 32 mb but they somehow make it to show its memory when system boots to be 64mb.

Changing the drivers won't solve this problem if its remarked. It may for instance show the memory to be 64 mb under windows also but after sometime it will start to show its real memory again which is 32 mb. That's wht i learnt from my experience. :grinthumb so chk if thts the case with u also.

I agree with fajoo24. Maybe is a 32MB card, but is shown like a 64MB card.
Be careful with no-name cards. :knock:

I did some looking around, nVidia GeForce2 MX
NewEgg

It seems on the nvidia sight that card came with 64mb only, however on newegg
I found 32mb versions and these were refurbished. I wonder now if you have
a refurbished 64mb ver they only put 32mb on. The video bios could still report
64mb but windows is seeing only what really there....far fetched I know...
but possible.
What is your AGP arpeture set to in the BIOS?
