Grand Theft Auto V Benchmarked, Performance Review

That 10% difference between the 2500k and the 4690k is due to what? From those 0.2 Ghz higher clock or is sandy bridge just that slower than maxwell?
Edit: Haswell, my dog must have typed that...

You see the same trend with AMD chips: almost linear increases in performance as clock speed increases, which is an indication of a CPU bottleneck. Pretty much every game benches like this these days.

I m noticing a weird thing here in techspot ,to start wth I have a gtx 660.and my specs is pretty decent :

i5 4440
8gb kingston hyperx fury
asrock h91 s1 plus
vs 550

and in most of the newer games in tech report I have that the gtx 660 is rated with very low fps.gta 5 fr example=all my settings are ultra all max out its showing that my 2gb vram has reached its maximum capacity its using 2020mb of ram.my textures are ultra .and I have turned evrything on that eats upto 2gb vram caz post that I need 3gb-4gb...but its way higher than normal settings as shown here.and trust me guys I get around 50-80 fps ..depending upon the situation.mostly I hover around 60fps..ya its butter smooth ,no lag , no sttutering aapraently my cpu usage shows 100%..but it has 0 effect in my game..no stuttering and I checked in forums thats its a known bug in gta v ,where cpu usage reaches 100%.its the only game in which my i5 reached 100%(so I ws quite surprised,da fk)..so techspot I guess u have a faulty gtx 660

Are you saying at 1080p with the game maxed out the GeForce GTX 660 is good for at least 60fps?

I had a seriously hard time following your comment and since you didn’t mention the resolution I am going to assume you are talking about 1080p.

Using the standard (normal) textures at 1080p with everything else maxed the GTX 660 averaged 42fps and this is accurate, there is certainly nothing faulty with our card. There is simply no way the GTX 660 is going to reach 60fps let alone 80fps using maximum quality settings.

Moreover the game requires considerably more VRAM than 2GB using the maximum quality settings at 1080p and that is a fact.

If you look at any other benchmark on the Internet you will see just how inconceivable it is to average 60fps with a GeForce GTX 660 using high quality settings.

GameGPU.ru; saw an average of 38fps at 1080p using standard textures…

Gme-Debate.com; here we see an average of 29fps for the GTX 660 using very high settings…

GamersNexus.net; these guys didn’t test many cards but their GeForce GTX 960 which is considerably faster than a GTX 660 averaged just 52fps. Slightly slower than the 58fps we received.

PC Labs; here we see the GTX 660 averaging 28fps…

Seems unlikely that we have a faulty GTX 660 ;) The GTX 660 is now an old slow graphics card and it certainly isn’t averaging anything like 60fps in the latest and greatest titles with everything turned up. In short the above results prove than using the ultra quality settings the GTX 660 isn't even able to crack the 30fps barrier.

Yah forgot to mention m playing at 1080p and Sorry about my english typo error mate, but I will post u the screen shot of my settings along with my fps .all I can say u that I have played the mission where trevor reaches los santos,(I am really busy with my work,so I dont get time to play much )till there I am getting well over 50-60 fps and sometimes 70 fps ,and my texture quality is set to max, as I said earlier my settings are set to maximum till the point where all of my vram memory is consumed,.caz I am limited by my vram memory so cant extend the settings further. one thing is that I think my post processing is turn to "low/off" I cant remember properly ,the reason was because of low vram.but definately my texture are "ultra" am sure about it.lastly I am not defending the gtx 660,but ur test benchmark amazed me especially in gta 5,as it is very low as compared to what I am getting, easily I get 50 fps.thats for sure.!but no way my fps drops below 40 ..only weird thing is my cpu runs almost at 100% and fluctuates between 80-100%...but still no stuttering or any weird issue

.I will post you my screen shot as soon as possible ,btw I have zotac gtx 660..

It is so difficult to read your posts... punctuation is a must. It's like a stream of consciousness while someone is high or something. If English isn't your native tongue then at least try to break up your thoughts into smaller chunks via punctuation and capitalization for new thoughts.

sorry dude, but in my profession we use short typing while writing or typing english, so my puntiation may be incorrect

Ohh right I am starting to understand. So what you are doing is an apples to oranges comparison. Settings the textures to their maximum quality but then having medium/low settings for everything else isn’t comparable to how we tested, naturally you are going to get more frames per second when only using 2GB of VRAM.

If you want to test the game in all of its glory you need to turn the very first setting in the ‘Graphics’ menu to ‘On’, that setting is titled “Ignore Suggested Limits”.

We provided clear screen shots of the settings used for testing so please refer to the first page. Our normal quality test requires at least 2.4GB of VRAM at 1080p and the very high test requires over 3GB of VRAM.

When commenting about claimed performance please make sure you are at least using the same settings.

Okay mate I have taken the screen shots of gta 5..I am a newbiee here, how do I post my screenshots.

Is this a screenshot of your frames per second? If so don't bother as that is evidence of nothing as you are running with inferior quality settings. If it is a screenshot of the quality settings you are using then please use a free upload service to put your screenshot online and then link it to your post.
