  1. My PC configuration
    Intel celeron 667
    128 MB RAM
    10 GB HDD
Mother board - Intel chipset 810 (PC Partner)

When i start installing windows 98 se. Scaning takes place which occurs very fast and after that when setup starts to copy files for setup to began it happens very slowly (it taks more than 45 min..) to copy these files.

I checked my hard disk for bad sectors.. using chkdsk, scandisk and there no bad sectors. when i copy files from dos using xcopy it works very fast. Even dir/s command work very fast.

Can anybody tell me which part of my PC is causing file copy in windows setup to get slow.

get over it Windows 98, even SE is gone get a new op system. XP is cheap and will be supported for a very few more years.

    Good luck
