Help to recover a user in windows xp

Ok here is the deal, my computer show me a the screen of dead and i use restore software from dell to reinstall windows, i selected to use the same folder during the installation now i cant acces the same user account that i had in the computer before and cant use none of the software in it, even that i see all the folders in there, my question is is it possible to restore this user back or the software installed? or what can i do

If you reinstalled windows you will also need to reinstall your applications.
