my laptop wont connect to my main router....its keeps saying "requiring network address" and i have tried everything i could possibly try and it just doesnt seem to work any tips or anything will be greatly appreciated

If it is a standard router, to which other computers are attached, first make sure that your network adapter or port is not flagged yellow or red in the device manager. Then you can download the free, yet good, Network Magic, for numbers and diagnostics.
Is there security or a firewall on the router?

You need to provide a lot more information, such as was it connecting and suddenly stopped or has it never connected to this or any other network? Are you connecting via wireless or with an Ethernet cable? Are other machines connecting through the router and just this one will not? What operating system are you running on the laptop? Etc., etc.
