Hijacked and in dire straits

I am working on a PC for a friend. The system is bonkers. It will not log on to the internet so I cannot scan for viruses online. I installed Zone Alarm Pro but something is preventing it from running. I have attached a hijackthis log. I see a few items that look sketchy but I'd like a second opinion.

It may be worth your while backing up your friends important data and reformatting.

Normally I would ask you to follow the instructions HERE. But since you can`t connect to the net, you probably won`t be able to follow the instructions.
