I am trying to remove Hacktool.Rootkit with the C:\WINDOWS\system32\rofl.sys flavour and cannot find the files mentioned in other posts. Thanks very much, Jon )

R RealBlackStuff Posts: 6,450 +3 Nov 22, 2005 #2 Follow these instructions EXACTLY. Put HijackThis in e.g. C:\Program Files\HJT and NOT in Temp or on the Desktop!. Read: How to remove Begin2Search/Coolwebsearch and Other Nasties Then post a fresh log.
