Hello to all!

Recently purchased an Artec (Atapi is what comes up in device manager) DVD +/-RW burns at 16x RW at 4x and reads at 16x

I noticed on my temperature display that since I've had the RW in the temperature monitor on the HDD's and mobo had increased by at least 5 degrees C. I thought maybe a fan had stopped so i opened up the case and i when i touched the DVD-RW it was sizzlin'! no joke. I'm slightly worried cause as of late i've been quite proud of my system being quite a cool one and i was wondering if im being slightly overreactive?! lol
any suggestions would be very welcome

5 degree C isn't too big. Pretty much all hd's & cd/dvd burners run hot.

I just don't leave a disk in the burner while I'm not using it. So it stops spinning. And it's quiet.

I spose it ain't much, my case came with temp sensors and the DVD RW is at 43 degrees! i was just a little staggered thats all! I'll try not to leave any discs in there in the future thanks for you help!
