How to move stuff from DVR to PC?

  1. I have an HD DVR from comcast and I would like to know if there is a way to move my recordings from it to my computer and if it is leagl. It has USB 2.0, firewire, and ethernet ports. thanks!!!!

    I can say with almost 100% certainty that it will be illegal. But nobody is going to know one way or the other if it is only for personal use.

    Next question is what is the exact model of your DVR? They are all different and have different answers.

    Its a motorola DCT6416 III

    not sure if it is illegal but anyway I copy dvr data from my dvr via usb and then convert them to dvd format and store them on a dvd disc.

    I don't think that Comcast has activated those ports.
