I get the biggest kick out of people treating me like I'm in 5th grade. Wow, that's not exactly front page news. In fact, it's one of the most blatant statements of the patently obvious I've heard in a long, long, time.
I've been aware that adoption is vastly more expensive than abortion for decades.... yes, decades.
It's also vastly more expensive to raise a child, than it is to have an abortion.
I find the "right to life's" crowd more of a "sea of hypocrite's" .group, since all they preach is virtue, but are unwilling to "adopt" (pun intended) , a milder stance. A stance, which I might add, is held by the majority of Americans. Or "put their money where their mouths are", and take these children they "save", into their homes and feed, and cloth, and educate them.. The distilled version, "they're all talk and no action".
It actually comes back to bite them in them in their a**es, in the amount of their tax money goes to support unwanted, and sometimes troubled, children. Of course only Uncle Sam really knows how many are living off government entitlements themselves. It doesn't seem like many would have time to hold a full time job, what with being camped out in front of abortion clinics all day.
The Roman Catholic Church has been "pro-life", virtually since its inception. It's a self serving, self glorifying, principle at best. (Of course this next observation will be from back when people actually worked for a living, and didn't sponge off the state). So, the more Catholics you have, the more tithes to the Vatican will be paid. The "Conquistadors" were Catholics. The Conquistadors slaughtered native American people by the tens of thousands, in order to "enlighten" them about "Jesus Christ our savior". Their message was clear and simple,. "Accept Jesus or die by the sword".(and "give us your gold to take back to Spain").
As for your original observation, (in essence), "the US is a police state, worst in the world", nothing could be further from the truth. You impress me as a sheltered liberal who has "drank to kool-aid", but never dealt with the people now in our prison system up close and personal.
particularly in the federal prisons. "Club Fed" is not in any way shape or form a snide joke. Some of our fed slammers have tennis courts, golf courses, and dinner can be almost an, "all you can eat buffet".
