I broke my headphone jack

I tried a quick search and couldn't find an answer.

I've managed to break off a bit of my headphone connector into the jack so my laptop thinks I have headphones plugged in while it is infact just a bit of metal, this is making it impossible for me to get any sound out of my laptop.

I was wondering if anyone knew any way of disabling the jack so I can get sound out of my speakers

I have the realtek HD audio manager on my HP G62 Notebook PC

I don't think it is possible to turn off the jack. That bit of metal is telling the computer to turn off the internal speakers. The computer still thinks that the headphones are connected. See if you can remove that bit of metal...

With the power unplugged. A strong light and very small needle nose pliers would be ever so helpful.

fixed it

I just got a thin(ish) bit of metal and hammered it into the headphone jack, I think I broke it but atleast now I get sound.
