I cant open any folder or run programs in my dvd drive

what should i do? i attached the error...im planning to format my computer but i hope somebody could save me from the trouble of formating....thanks

Eh!? Format the hard disk sounds a bit extreme for a problem with a DVD drive.

So I assume you have tried with various CDs/DVDs and receive the same error?

First I would try to see if there are any later device drivers for the DVD, but it may just be that your DVD drive is faulty.

The error message you attached stated that qnmargoldpq.dll was the offending program. This is a spyware file. I would suggest running Ad-Aware, Webroot or some other legitimate spyware application first. If you are familiar with the use hijackthis, you could also remove it that way. Reformatting your hard drive will remove the spyware, but it is an extreme measure.

Mind you, if you were thinking of formatting, why bother scanning.
But everything is fixable, remove the spyware from C:\WINDOWS\qnmargoldpq.dll in Safe Mode, then try again.

If it works in Normal mode again, you are best to run a full spyware and Antivirus scan
