I have Directx 10... but I can't play games compatible for 9.0

trying to play sims 2 + expansions.
it tells me this thing about not having directx 9.0..
though i have better.?
shouldnt it be better if i have directx 10? rather than not work..? please reply to this post=]

You must be running Vista. What are your complete computer specs? Video card or on-board video?

All you have to do is go to the Microsoft website and download the latest incarnation of 9.0c (was released around 12/5 I think) and you should be good to go.
