Increasing DVD Transfer Rates

Hi,

Somewhere I have read that Windows limits the transfer rated of DVD Roms to 4x (wich is about 5.5 MBPS). When I Copy data from the DVD to my HDD it moves about 5.5 MBPS (4x). I know that my DVD ROM can transfer a lot faster. How do I optimize it to do just that?

i was unaware of this happening. i havent changed anything in my system and i always get faster speeds than 5.5 when burning.

I am not talking about burning. I am talking when I copy stuff from DVD to HDD. I can burn at 22MBPS.
