Installed me heatsink and fan no boot

Hi, I installed and new heatsink and fan computer turns on but turns off after 5 secs. So I put old one back in computer boots fine straight to windows I've changed about 5 times I've checked new ones fan and it's working. Only thing I can think of trying now is leaving the old fan plugged in hang it out of the side put new one in and plug it in second cpu fan port and see if it boots?

Ok I dropped it on with no mounts on and computer boots fine so must be a problem with the position when the mounts are on

Some fan kits try to fit lots of different situations - and parts can get jumbled. I had one which I kept trying and it didn't work until I turned it 180 degrees. There can be issues about the number of pins on the fan connector as well - some mobos won't work if the pins are wrong. I'm sure you read instructions over and over.
