iPhones and Apple Watches could soon replace your car keys

Don't lock yourself out of your phone. Apple may not hack it for you. Just another Point-Of-Failure. One of Security's best practices is,,,to reduce your overall P-O-F's and exposures, not to add to it. I predict more thefts.

Except people usually expose their phone more so than they do their keys. And service personnel can pair their devices more easily than duplicating a key.

By handling my phone more, I am more aware of where it is. If I lost my car key, I might not even know for several hours.

All I have to say at this point. If you are standing with key in hand. And wondering where your car went to. Don't expect me to be sympathetic.

I don't want that capability in my vehicle. It's a security risk whether you use it or not. The option will be available for anyone that has access to both your vehicle and key.

These things should only be available via third party, should you decide you want them.
