Is it possible to Rollback from DX9 to DX8

I am in 2 minds whether to install DX9 on my machine which is a
P4 2.26/256/GF4
I have just got the new 3DMark 2003 and 4 of the tests do not work unless u have DX9.

I heard somewhere that once Dx9 is installed you cannot rollback to DX8 not even using System restore.

How stable is DX9??

There are some DirectX 9.0 Uninstallers available, at least for XP

DX 9 should be fairly stable now, i got it running on 2 sytem

g4 4600 ultra and a 9700 pro - not 1 problem yet.

I use ME and I have used system restore twice to rollback to DX 8 with no probs(was trying different drivers and such).Just make sure you make a restore point before you install DX 9.DX 9 didn't really improve anything for me(made BF1942 run staggered-no matter what drivers used) and there's no games using it at moment AFAIK.
