Is my processor too hot?

Well, i've been reading threads
and i know the prescott runs really hot.
My 3.0 Ghz P4 runs at 47 C idol, and about 58 C at full load
and i'm using a Thermaltake Spark 7+
Now people are getting under 40 C with stock cooler?
if i'm reading right,
now how can this be?
Good ventalation in case? or better thermal grease or what!?

Ambient / room temperatures make a gargantuan difference and nullify anything you've read as far as "recommended temps" go. As long as you are under the rated core temp, you're fine.. Which is substantially higher than 68*C

For example, if I leave my window open (0*F outside) to cool down the room, my laptop CPU temperature drops fromm 50*C to 35*C easy while doing my usual thing. It's chilly in here.. But it makes a big difference!

you may want to install a rear exhaust fan in it. i did this and it dropped my idle temp 10C. went from 45 to 35. 58 under full load.
