LCD issues

I have a ViewSonic VA721 LCD display purchased about 2 weeks ago, and i've noticed a green dot appearing near the center of the display just when I replaced my wallpaper into some bright photo. Is it normal for LCDs to have appearances like this? Is this pixel related? Please, I need your help and assurance that this is just ok.

Welcome to Techspot!
Usually burnt out pixels (The size of a Pin Head ) are black.
You don't say the size of your Dot and whether it is just there when this picture is Displayed or all the time.If it is the latter. Check native settings are correct , Don't use any Wallpaper/Sceensaver(I never use these they cause too many problems) for a while and see if the Dot disappears. If not Veiwsonic has an excellent return policy replace it, especially center screen ,very annoying area.

I've tried resetting the display to its native settings but it did not solve the issue. However, I did inform the store about it and hurray, they are going to replace it. Thanks so much for your help.
