I too have fallen victim to the emachine psu/motherboard death saga.
In the course of trying to daignose the problem I managed to lose unknown parts of my power button.
I have already bought a new psu (hoping that was all it was) and am awaiting arrival of a motherboard.
But I am in need of a power switch.
I guess I could just make a new hole and install an aftermarket switch but would like to either find a switch or another faceplate. I beleive the 2542 is a nexgen chassis??
With all the horror stories about these machines one would think someone would have a dead one they would be parting out.
Any help You guys could give me with this would be much appreciated.
