Microsoft Copilot is showing ads in Windows 11 now, too

The minute I got it, I started looking for a reg entry or shell script to remove it. It's GONE from my computer!
You do not fixing the root of the issue, only the result, and this mean the root will be growing and at some point you won't have options to avoid it. Better option is just drop it all together.

Nope, they are just greed based and privacy tracking crap from one of the richest companies in the world, plain and simple. Stop making excuses for corporate greed and the need shove our life full of garbage ads with literally every single digital product we used whether we paid for it or not. You think this new model was because Microsoft is benevolent? LOL. Nobody asked for this AI privacy invasion bulls**t running 24/7 on their computers. So, Option 3, didn't ask for it, don't want it, ever.
Then just don't use it! Do you simple people really need this spelled out?

DO NOT USE IT. And no ads will be shown to you.

Simple as that. How hard is to grasp that?

Was an harsh reply really necessary?

BTW, there is registry removal scripts and files location information on disableing Copilot. Worked fine on my in 11 Pro desktop.

Take care.

Too bad everyone else doesn't have your initiative to just go and fix what they don't care for.
For far too many, it seems the complaining is the point.

Remember when the same thing was said about online MS accounts? Then, it became mandatory on home and increasingly difficult to achieve outside of home.

Maybe whiny "millenials" whine because they, unlike gen x or boomers, understand that corporations do not like you and will push everything they can down your throat, and public backlash is one of the few ways to hold megacorps accountable.

Unless there is a version of windows that doesnt have ANY of this BS available for us consumers to buy, it is being forced on us and complaints are our right as consumers to voice our disapproval, since this is not china and we have freedom of speech.

Remember when using Paint in Windows became mandatory? Remember when the use of Cortana became mandatory? Remember when the use of Calculator became mandatory? ... Yeah, me neither.

You're engaged in a slippery slope argument, which is not an actual argument, but a logical fallacy.

Fact is: if you do not use Copilot, you do not get any ads. Another fact is: It's stupid to argue that MS is somehow using Copilot or ads to track users, because if they wanted to do that, they could use that with just the core Windows already, and could do it 1000x times more effective, that with any ads shown alongside Copilot results.
