Mobile ads stopping audio playback

I have noticed this morning when listening to music and browsing the site, my music stops playing. I have noticed it only happens when I come across ads that are videos even if the audio isn’t playing from the video.
I am on an iPhone 8 plus, iOS 11.4.1 and I am using Safari.

That's weird and unintended, but possible... would you mind sharing a screenshot so I can make sure this is addressed? Thank you for your help.

I've been looking for a solution but this seems to be a widespread problem with Safari and certain type of ads...

We never run ads with audio on, and in this instance is not a specific advertiser either (I would block it if that was the case) but it seems like a certain template or format of ad used by many advertisers that conflicts with Safari. I wish I could help more but that's the situation right there.

After upgrading to iOS 12 the issue went away!
