Monitor keeps turning off/goes blank

I have a 22" LG Flatron W2234GS LCD monitor which I bought under six months ago.

I haven't had any sort of issues with it since I bought it. But lately it keeps going blank as if it was turned off. Then after a while it turns back on again at random.

I've attacthed it to another PC and still the same problem.

Right now I am using it but the screen looks like its about to cut off because it's the screen goes darker (dim) then bright again.

Unless you have wiring/power problems at the location you are situated in, it sounds like the monitor is going defective with a thermal problem. It is possible, though unlikely, that it could be a problem with the power cord to the monitor, so if you have a spare one, it would be worth swapping to see if that helps. Otherwise, what is the warranty on the monitor?

Managed to return it under warranty and exchanged it for a 23" Acer X233H.

Sounded like bad capacitors again.

Acers have a problem with capacitors, too, so if it does something similar after a while, you may want to check the caps.
