Monitor will not go blank

I am running XP on a Pentium 4......I recently disconnected my monitor (samtron 96B) and reconnected it....since that time instead of my monitor going dark as per my settings I get the floating warning that my monitor is disconnected ...this never happened prior to my disconnecting the monitor...any suggestions to solve problem..p.s. i have checked all my settings retime to shut off etc...

You might try reinstalling the Samtron driver. You can Google for it. Make sure you haven't bent any pins in the connector going to the computer
