My New built PC keeps restarting

Hi y'all

I have recently built a PC with the following specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2000 + THOROUGHBRED With factory unlocked Multiplier

1Gb Dual channal RAM (400Mhz)

ASUS A7N8X-X Mobo

Radeon 9600xt 256mb

Once built and the OS installed i noticed that my CPU temp was really high (60-70 degrees)

Then I went out and bought a new heatsink and fan. the temp was now 50 -60.

For a few hours all seemed well, but then when i went to start a slighty demanding program it froze.

I restarted the PC and everytime i get to the desktop it restarts.

I have tried a new PSU and checked the RAM, all is ok.

any suggestions?

We need more information please.

What kind of hard drive do you have?

Have you checked all your drivers? (Mobo, graphics card, sound card, etc.)

What kind of "demanding" program are you running? A game? or what?

Please specify the OS, and if you have updated it (SP1 or SP2 or what have you)

What does the computer do when there is a problem? Freeze? Any errors? Just shut down?
