Near-final Gears of War 3 game leaked onto torrent sites

An unfinished but near full-featured version of Gears of War 3 has leaked onto the Internet over the weekend. According to a poster on the website NeoGAF, the leaked build of Gears of War 3 includes the full single-player campaign and all the multiplayer options. "Buggy as hell, but it seems like it's all there," the post claims.

The game isn't due out until September 20 and is considered perhaps the biggest exclusive for the Xbox 360 this year. Naturally, Epic is working hard to try and contain the leak, or at least punish those that are responsible for it, claiming it is working closely with their security teams and law enforcement to address the situation. The company was also quick to assure that the leak does not represent the experience players will have with the real thing.

Although unfortunate, this shouldn’t hurt Epic Games too badly considering the leaked build is not a final version of the game and the fact it can only be played on hacked Xbox 360s. However, gameplay videos have already made their way onto YouTube and other streaming video sites, opening the floodgates for Gears of War 3 information and spoilers.

Gears of War 3 is just the latest big name game this year that has been leaked after Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, Killzone 3 and most recently Duke Nukem Forever suffered the same fate. If you are looking forward to Epic Games' shooter and don't want your experience ruined the solution is simple, though: avoid watching any footage from the leaked game.

Its funny seeing people acting like sore losers. This pirating is going to effect MS in a very small way since the only people who can play this are JTag users. Which is a very small number of people. This isn't like a pc leak where everyone that has a pc can all of a sudden play the game.

That is still the difference between PC and console. The console is doing the work to stop the pirating where in a PC game, the studio has to do the work and than everyone whines about DRM.

The game is actaully not that buggy, its may crash when you open the guide button and there a cople of animations missing but that really it.

Good. Epic was damned arrogant in stating that the Gears series, with the exception of Gears 1, would be 360 exclusives and then blamed pirating on the PC for lost revenue. Now that Gears 3 has been leaked to torrent sites what do they have to say now?

Even still the loss of renvenue will be alot less than the loss on the PC.
Think about it, Jtagging an Xbox is not as easy as cracking a PC game, PC piracy any 15 year old can do it, Xbox 360, it has to be a pretty smart person.

That said I have freinds who

buy a new xbox every year,

break it, play all pirated games Online,

and thn when there cosnole gets banned (MS do an anuual yearly ban) they simple Buy another xbox and tell me "games cost £40-50 new, we save on software the cost of a new xbox, which is £80 on ebay"

An xbox 360 costs the same as 2 new releases so to break even you just have to pirate 3 games. Its Microsofts fault really instead of a yearly ban why not more often! Weekly?

Yea this isn't the same thing as a leaked PC game because JTAG 360's are few and far between, meaning not a lot of people will be able to use the leaked files. Newer consoles can not use the mod because of a patch and it's a lot more work to get it working on able consoles than to just run a PC leak.

and this is the reason why they didn't want to develop the game for PC, and yet the console game gets leaked :/
