Need help with microphone

Hey guys i recently got my Steel Sound 5H-USB. It's a gaming headset with a USB card bundled. Now here's the problem, when i plug the mic into the USB soundcard and i use it in counterstrike, my friends tell me they hear a constant humming and buzzing sound. When i record my voice in windows, I too can hear the sound and my voice seems very soft. I tried boosting but the humming and buzzing gets boosted too. The microphone is located on the headphone. Thanks for the help.
