Wearing all that gear on your head is bound to cause neck problems down the road. Cue the Optigrab law suit!

VR is such a gimmick

You say that until your in it. You won’t under stand it. Get a meta 2, play some games, if you don’t like it return it. If your worried about Facebook get your info don’t worry about it, everything from your current home address, phone number, email accounts, even where you were born are already publicly up for sale and may even be up for free depending on where you live and when you were born.

So try it, play some games and see how it feels. I don’t care how stupid I look if I can gun down hoards of monsters and crack some skulls with my bare hands on an alien planet or sit down, relax and talk/play games with people all over the world after a hard day of work.

I had the DK and Oculus Rift; was categorically underwhelmed. gave them to my brother; same deal; they are now museum pieces.

What is really needed to be a step in immersion for gaming is AR; not VR. VR just looks terrible; feels fake, and is a master PITA to use. The holodeck it absolutely is not. It's more in the Emperor's New Clothes category.
