  1. How do I get more performance on my PC. I've the following set:

    - Windows 2000 OS
    - AMD Athlon 2200+
    - ATI Radeon 9600 128MB
    - 768MB SDRAM
    - Maxtor Diamondmax 160GB

I'd like to play MOHAA, CoD and Blitzkrieg etc. games more smoothly.

    Can anybody help me, please?

You could upgrade your graphics card as a start.
Here you can compare some common graphics cards, you probably will need an agp graphics card, not the newer pci-e cards.

A faster cpu and faster ram(if yours is sdram, not ddr) would also help, but would likely require you to buy a new motherbaord as well.

I've just updated my graphic card at Geforce 4 MX 440 to ATI Radeon 9600. You're right, I've to purchase a new motherboard to use another type of ram. I think I try to manage a while with that ****in' Compaq and save some money during that and then buy a better pc. What you think?

Yeah, I think you have it right. Use this one for a while, until you think it's just too slow, then you might as well build a new one. Once you replace the motherboard, cpu, and ram, it's basically a completely new system anyway.
