Netflix will let you disable those annoying auto previews

About time. Annoying as hell. Especially when you have a room full of people trying to talk while you're looking for a movie.
Once upon a time (30+ years ago), I had cable, along with a couple;e of premium channels. "Cinemax" was one, and I can'e even remember the name of the other.

Anyway, they budgeted each B or C movie, at 2 hours each. The rest of the time left from the average 1':30" minute run, was given to advertising exactly when you'd be able to see the same piece of sh!t all over again. But hey, there were, "no commercials". Which only meant they wouldn't try to sell you skin care products or hair dye, in between the suck a** movies.

It's all in the spin. "you can watch it at several times", unwinds to "we're going to show this again and again, because we're already paid as much in royalties to the distribution companies as we plan to for the foreseeable future".

I suppose dead air would have been preferable to an endless stream, of previews, but then again, I just stopped paying them until they shut it off, so I guess I"l never know.

I don't have anymore anyways. Too busy with other things, including talking it about here.

I only hate when the show starts playing after you click on a show/movie to see the details but before you click play.

Sadly auto-play from the detail page is not disabled. I do wish they would get rid of the churlish abbreviated descriptions and just display as much of the more detailed description that they have room for on the top level catalog page so I don't have to click into the detail page.

So a follow-up: @Shawn Knight I set this in the web interface. Either Netflix updated their Windohs 10 app and there is a new "bug" or it never worked their in the first place. I use the Netflix Windohs 10 app, and the previews just keep on playing.

It seems we’re now addicted to our devices more than ever, with the average consumer spending 11 hours and 54 minutes every day interacting with TVs, smartphones, consoles, and more.
