Once upon a time (30+ years ago), I had cable, along with a couple;e of premium channels. "Cinemax" was one, and I can'e even remember the name of the other.About time. Annoying as hell. Especially when you have a room full of people trying to talk while you're looking for a movie.
Anyway, they budgeted each B or C movie, at 2 hours each. The rest of the time left from the average 1':30" minute run, was given to advertising exactly when you'd be able to see the same piece of sh!t all over again. But hey, there were, "no commercials". Which only meant they wouldn't try to sell you skin care products or hair dye, in between the suck a** movies.
It's all in the spin. "you can watch it at several times", unwinds to "we're going to show this again and again, because we're already paid as much in royalties to the distribution companies as we plan to for the foreseeable future".
I suppose dead air would have been preferable to an endless stream, of previews, but then again, I just stopped paying them until they shut it off, so I guess I"l never know.
