No signal on Monitor, Keyboard, or mouse W98-Dell

Hello,

I have a Dell Dimension 4100 with windows 98.
The computer was working fine, I tried to add more memory and accidently put the stick of RAM in upsidedown.

When I put it in right side up, I do not get a signal on the monitor, keyboard, or mouse anymore.

The fan works(powered off of the motherboard)
The other fan works fine.
The battery CMOS is fine-had it tested.
The jumper is on pings 1 and 2 of the motherboard.
I tried resiting all cards and memory-only using one stick of 128mb RAM.

No beeps, so I know the memory is working fine. It seems that the motherboard is just not powering up the monitor/keyboard/mouse for some reason.

Any suggestions??

Thank you.

Probably shorted the memory slot which in turn damaged the motherboard.

Thank you for replying. I tried again tonight to start up the machine.

Usually, the computer would boot up the floppy drive, but it seems that the motherboard doesn't even notice there is one.

The cd drives eject (DVD drive and a CRW drive) so they are working.

Is it possible for the motherboard to give power to the fans, drives but not the monitor/keyboard/mouse??

If I replace the motherboard, can I keep everything else (HD, video cards....)

Thanks.
