Notebook xp freeze

hello everybody,

I have a problem with my notebook and windows xp.

about 3-5 times a day my desktop freezes and i can't open any programm not even the start menu. the mouse still works but nothing else.the only thing i can do is Ctrl+alt+Delete and then log out and log in again and then everything is fine again.

i have all the latest drivers and updates installed .

my laptop is:
intel core 2 duo @1.83
ram 2 Gb
nvidia geforce go 7600

any help is welcome

Hmmm...could be many things. Can you predict when it might happen? For kicks next time it "freezes" Ctrl+alt+delete then under processes select explorer.exe right-click and end it, then after your desktop dissappears under file hit new task and type explorer. Also, check what tasks are running with the most memory - google the names to make sure they are vaild MS tasks.
